Hometown Tour

Western Baptist Hospital

This is Western Baptist Hospital, where I, along with Bruce and Demi's first spawn, was born. (Obviously, not at the same time.) The view is from the corner of my high school campus. There used to be buildings between one and the other, before the hospital did the lebensraum thing a few years ago. Which is not to say that hospital officials have in any way invaded Poland -- at least, not that they're admitting.

Also, in my last two years of high school I was gopher for an architectural firm, one of whose members had essentially spent most of his life working on the expansion of this hospital (one of two in Paducah). It seemed like a task that could wear away one's soul, and his demeanor reflected that. I did not go into architecture.
