When Categories Fail

Exhibit 1, from the news pages of the SciFi Channel website – note what's listed in the middle of this list of top-selling "sci-fi" DVDs:

SF DVD Sales - No. 5, Passion of the Christ

Now I didn't see the movie, so maybe there's good cause to insert The Passion of the Christ in there. Did Mel have the Romans beat Jesus with lasers? Or has the director Lucasized the DVD so that when Jesus expires, blast rings shoot out from him?

Exhibit 2, from the home page of Delphi Forums, where the bulletin boards have been down for four days:

What's Hot - Partial Database Outage

"What's Hot." I see. The boards are down an unforgivably long time not because the staff wasn't prepared, but because outages are trendy.
