Chippy, the Super-Indecent Sea Lion
10:29 AMSo there's this sea lion, Chippy, that they found way inland with a bullet wound in his head, and they fixed up and released back into the wild – with a satellite tag attached to him. As the Marine Mammal Center tells us, "This tag is glued to his haircoat and will eventually fall off, but we hope to get 3 to 6 months of data from him before that happens."
Also, "The data we receive is on a 24-hour delay."
24-hour delay? OK, people are way overreacting to the whole Janet Jackson thing.

An Honor Just to Be Nominated
10:55 PMCrossWalk, the eight-minute action comedy epic we made last summer, has been accepted into the Nashville Film Festival. We don't have schedule details yet, but the festival runs April 26-May 2.
Why Nashville? A film-making friend of Robbie's who lives there now said, after seeing CrossWalk, "That could be in the Nashville Film Festival!" So we entered, and it turns out he was right.
Starting with Nashville, we've been entering CrossWalk in a few festivals, avoiding the ones that are prestigious/arty/expensive, and the ones whose deadlines we missed. We're 1-for-2 so far, having been welcomed by Nashville but snubbed by one of the lesser* San Francisco fests. We won't hear from a third festival until June.
Right now, we're not planning to attend CrossWalk's theatrical premiere, since it would cost more to make the trip than it did to make the movie. But then again, the lure of seeing our little digivid flick on a big screen with stadium seating is growing mighty tempting.

Leap Crumb
11:59 PMI probably should have done something special today. What with the date happening only every four years.
Didn't.

A new term for all you gamers, spawned during a round of Peak 3 Big Air in SSX 3:
Me: Have you tried that ramp on the right?
Robbie: Yeah, I did that the first time. But it's not as pointensive.

At work, I was searching the Web for stock photography of grocery carts, and I was startled to stumble upon this:

So for those thousands of publications working on articles about gay domestic disputes in supermarkets, you know where to get your illustration.
