Just when I was basking in the fact that NBC had deigned to start showing Scrubs again, and nodding my head to every sentence in TeeVee's assessment of its winner of this year's Best Half-Hour Show honor, comes the unfortunate news that noted film android Tara Reid will have a recurring role on the show this season.

Let's just hope that, as others have before her, she will acquit herself once in the hands of great writers and actors.

Or, at the very least, that the writers will insert lots of jokes about her waxy, synthetic face.

Woman I Don't Know Who I Don't Immediately Realize Is Talking to Me: Hey, you know who you look like?

Me: [silence, wondering if and why this woman is talking to me]

Woman: You look like that guy in Spider-man!

Me: [puzzled look]

Woman: You know, the guy who killed Spider-man's uncle!

Me: [fake laughter]
