Apparently, Hollywood is considering sequels to Ocean's 11 and Seven. Which means something Robbie and I have been joking about could actually come to pass: Jet Li in The One II.
"To be honest, my intention was not to lie, but I was in the closet for 21 years. When you are gay, you learn to have facades. So, I think manipulation is inherently a defense mechanism for many gay people."
That's some jerk named John Carroll, who is helping Survivor -- which, I guess, someone somewhere is still watching -- give gay men another bad stereotype to combat. In suggesting that being gay makes a guy evil, he's nearly as reprehensible as the idiots trying to blame priestly pedophilia on homosexuality.

Here's someone I don't know making a ridiculously broad statement that in spite of the fact that he is not in any way speaking for me still makes me look bad:"To be honest, my intention was not to lie, but I was in the closet for 21 years. When you are gay, you learn to have facades. So, I think manipulation is inherently a defense mechanism for many gay people."

In the weeks after Sept. 11, I faulted Salon for being as package- and terror-happy as the mainstream press. Now, the online mag get points back for presenting an interview with a writer well-versed in war, who has seen what is happening in Afghanistan and has a very different story to tell than our government. And it's not even subscriber-only content!

For perhaps the first time, there could be a worthy reason to figure out where the hell American Movie Classics is on your cable box. The channel, which shows such movie classics as Rollercoaster, Alien Nation and Mother, Jugs and Speed -- and to be fair, numerous good movies -- has bought a pilot in which Mystery Science Theater 3000's Mike Nelson visits towns that have been movie locations, both Variety and Entertainment Weekly report.

A commercial that doesn't exist, but would be every bit as justifiable, relevant and accurate as one that does:
(A series of faces, in close-up)
"I helped kids learn how to kill."
"Hey, it's something I just had to have."
"I helped kill a policeman."
"I was just trying to get to work."
"I helped a bomber get a fake passport."
"All the commuters do it."
"I helped blow up buildings."
"I can't very well run my SUV on water, can I?"
"I helped devastate the environment."
"C'mon. It's just gasoline. What's the harm?"
