I rarely can stand to look pictures of myself, but one was taken this week that I actually like. And since I don't have my visage anywhere else on the site, here me be:

Incidentally, this photo was taken for a legitimate project at work. The context is much less interesting that the result.

In other egocentric news, I realized recently that I have inexplicably developed the habit of closing short work conversations about projects and tasks with: "Beautiful." For example:

Someone else: I'll have that text to you this afternoon.
Me (walking away): Beautiful. Thanks.

This may seem harmless, but it scares me a little. It reeks of Hollywood agent. When you start closing your conversations with "Beautiful," you're a small step away from extending it to "Beautiful. You're the best. Don't ever change, baby." <shudder>

My friend Lynn back in Kentucky sends reassurance that wasteful government stupidity careens on at the sub-federal level:

HR 256 ... Encourage the purchase of a submarine to patrol the waters of the Commonwealth and search and destroy all casino riverboats.
The proposal is certainly a joke, yes. But still.

I think I must have stepped through a time portal this morning -- as I type, Headline News is doing a segment on emoticons. Gad.

Since several have asked, here's an update: the naked guy has not been spotted since last I mentioned him. Weird. Maybe it was all some strange post-Easter ritual.
