Money Business

This morning, I misread the slogan on the back of a truck, which appeared to my pre-caffeinated eyes as:

LIKE MONKEY
IN THE BANK

And I wondered: how many other "money" expressions could be made much more entertaining with the addition of that golden k, as in komedy?

  • We're in the monkey
  • Shake your monkeymaker
  • "Monkey for Nothing"
  • "She Works Hard for the Monkey"
  • I'm not made of monkey

Note that the reverse operation ...

  • Money on my back
  • Money see, money do
  • Moneying around

... is not nearly as effective.

How about that theme from "The Apprentice": "Monkey, monkey, monkey, monnnnnkey ... MONkey!" V. Trump.

Also: Monkey makes the world go 'round.

CONVERSELY: The George Michael lyric: "Do you want the money or do you want me?"

Monkeys are fun!

Don't be fooled. It CAN be disturbing. Witness... the Monkey Shot. [shudder]

I love it. And Dewayne's "Apprentice" comment too. That's so the way I'm singing that song from now on.

Some more...
Take the monkey and run
Mo' monkey, mo' problems
And it makes the dialogue in Swingers even funnier:
"You are so monkey."

Wait a minute! I can't believe this one hasn't been mentioned yet!

SHOW ME THE MONKEY!
